24: Ireland - RTE ceases transmissions on 567 and 729 kHz

April

01: Germany - An accident during a routine generator check at the Weiskirchen transmitter site, involving a minor explosion and small fire in the power distribution panels, forces AFN to leave 873 kHz.
04: Germany - AFN returns on the air (873 kHz) with limited power.
13: Hungary - Radio Mohács resumes broadcasting but under a new name, Régió Rádio. Licensed with 1 kW, the station broadcasts with 220 watts.

May

01: Netherlands - Radio Waddenzee transmits for three days from the MV Jenni Baynton (island Griend).
05: Germany - Bavarian Open Radio is renamed to On3radio.
15: Germany - Truckradio ceases broadcasting on all of its medium wave frequencies.

June

30: Switzerland - The Monte Ceneri transmitter on 558 kHz shuts down at 22h UTC.

28: Switzerland - The transmitter site at Beromünster on 531 kHz shuts down.
