01: Czech Republic - The Czech transmitters on 558, 864, and 981 kHz cease broadcasting.
01: Ukraine - The transmitter in Mykolayiv on 549 kHz is switched off.
06: Netherlands - Radio Paradijs ends it test transmissions on 828 kHz.
15: Sweden - The old Swedish frequency of 981 kHz is used today only for a commemorate broadcast on Swedish radio pioneer K.G. Eliasson (see also 1924). The name of the station was SMZX (Eliasson's ham call sign).
21: Netherlands - Radio 10 Gold increases its broadcasting hours via 1395 kHz from 14 to 21 hours a day.
25: UK - Radio Wanno, a prisoners' radio station, starts broadcasting on 999 kHz at Wandsworth jail.

February

01: Czech Republic - The transmitters of CRo 6 on 1071, 1233, and 1287 kHz cease broadcasting. Other transmitters to close are 558 kHz (Tachov/Právo), 864 kHz (Strakonice/Radomysl) and 981 kHz (Jihlava/Vetrník).
01: Ukraine - The transmitters in Dokutchayevsk (711), Uzhhorod (675), Starobilsk (963), Luhanks (1134), and Oktiabrske (1242 kHz) are reactivated.

01: Albania - China Radio International begins broadcasting two hours a day on 1395 kHz for Eastern European listeners., as well as on 1458 kHz.
01: France - Radio Nouveaux Talents (RNT) starts broadcasting on 1575 kHz in Meudon with 5 kW.
17: Ireland - RTÉ1 starts broadcasting on 252 kHz
24: France - Superloustic, a station for toddlers, starts broadcasting on 999 kHz.
28: Vatican City - Vatican Radio starts DRM broadcasts on 1611 kHz

09: UK - BBC Essex turns into Pirate BBC Essex (729-765-1530 kHz) in commemoration of the 40th anniversart after the start of Radio Caroline.
11: Ireland - Last day of RTÉ on 612 kHz

01: UK - Hospital radio station Apple 1431 kHz starts broadcasting on 1431 kHz in Taunton (Somerset).
04: Poland - Twoje Radio Pulawy starts broadcasting on 1062 kHz with 1 kW.

08: France - Radio Superloustique starts broadcasting on 675 kHz via Marseille.

06: Slovakia - Slovak Radio switches off 1071 kHz via Presov.

04: Germany - SWR 4 changes to SWR Cont.Ra on 828 kHz via Freiburg.

01: Romania - Radio Sighet starts broadcasting on 1404 kHz.

06: Germany - At 1621utc Trückradio starts broadcasting on 702 kHz (Jülich) and 855 kHz (Nordkirchen) with 5 kW.
