01: Hungary - Radio Mohács starts transmitting on 1485 kHz, while Magyar Katolikus Radio starts broadcasting on 810 kHz (Szolnok) and 1340 kHz (Lakihegy).

31: Czech Republic - Radio Echo leaves medium wave (1233 kHz).

08: Germany - MDR Info via Leipzig-Wiederau moves to 783 kHz.

16: Netherlands - Veronica Nieuwsradio starts broadcasting on 1395 kHz.
24: Poland - Norea Radio and Trans World Radio perform tests in Norwegian and Swedish via the high power Polish transmitter in Stargard Tychowo on 1503 kHz.

November

01: Hungary - The Radio Mohács transmitter is closed down and moved to another location.
06: Czech Republic - Cesky Rozhlas 6, a new domestic service, starts on 1287 and 1485 kHz, as well as 1593 khz via Germany.
