28: International Waters - Due to financial problems, Radio Brod ceases broadcasting from the MV Droit de Parole. The station served the Balkan countries with uncensored news during the Yugoslav civil war.

March

01: Albania - The BBC ceases broadcasting on medium wave via Albania.
07: International Waters - Radio Brod resumes broadcasting.
24: UK - BBC Radio Kent switches off the transmitter on 1035 kHz.
27: UK - At midnight BBC Radio 5 becomes BBC Radio 5 Live on 693 and 909 kHz.
