05: UK - The BBC adopts the Greenwich time.
17: UK - The BBC starts transmitting the Big Ben time signal on the hour.

March

01: GermanySender Leipzig starts broadcasting on 664 kHz with 0.25 kW.
23: Finland - In Helsinki MW station Radiola (2NBI) starts with a power of 500 W. The station goes bankrupt after six months.
28: UK - BBC 5PY Plymouth starts broadcasting on 330 metres.
30: Germany - The "Südwestdeutsche Rundfunkdienst AG" started broadcasting from Frankfurt.

May

01: UK - BBC 2EH Edinburgh starts broadcasting on 325 metres.
10: Germany - The Süddeutsche Rundfunk AG starts broadcasting on 686 kHz with 0.25 kW.
11: Estonia - First official broadcast.
17: Estonia - The first radio-related organization “Eesti Raadio Klubi” (Estonian Radio Club) was founded. They start issuing radio magazine “Eesti Raadio” (Estonian Radio).

June

11: UK - BBC 6LV Liverpool starts broadcasting on 318/315 metres.
15: Netherlands - Radio Bloemendaal starts broadcasting on 1116 kHz.

08: UK - BBC 2LS Leeds (346 metres) and 2LS Bradford (310 metres) start broadcasting.
21: UK - The BBC starts broadcasting on long wave via 5XX Chelmsford on 1600 metres with 15 kW.

05: Austria - Official broadcaster "Radio-Verkehrs-AG" (RAVAG) takes over from Radio Hekaphon.
15: UK - BBC 6KH Hull starts broadcasting on 320 metres.

14: UK - BBC 2BE Belfast starts broadcasting on 435 metres.
16: UK - BBC 5NG Nottingham starts broadcasting on 340 metres.

1: Austria - The transmitter Wien-Stubenring (0.35 kW, 566 kHz) replaces the one of Radio Hekaphon.
10: Germany - The Münster transmitter of WEFAG went on air with 0.25 kW on 737 kHz.

09: UK - BBC 2DE Dundee starts broadcasting on 331 metres.
21: UK - BBC 6ST Stoke-on-Trent starts broadcasting on 306 metres.
