08: UK - For the first time, the BBC does a broadcast on location.
20: France - Radio PTT starts in Paris and will broadcast until 17 June 1940.
25: Norway - A 0.5 kW transmitter in Oslo starts broadcasting on 682 kHz ( this frequency changes several times in the following years).

13: UK - BBC 5WA Cardiff starts broadcasting on 351 metres.

March

6: UK - BBC 5SC Glasgow starts broadcasting on 420 metres.

April

1: Austria - Austrian Radio started with private test transmissions using a 0.1 kW transmitter on 500 kHz.

May

18: Czech Republic - Czech Radio starts broadcasting with 1 kW in the Kbely district of Prague.

October

10: UK - BBC 2BD Aberdeen starts broadcasting on 495 metres.
17: UK - BBC 6BM Bournemouth starts broadcasting on 385 metres.
30: Germany - The first official radio broadcasts in Germany start from the attic of the Vox building in Berlin.

November

16: UK - BBC 6FL Sheffield starts broadcasting on 303 metres (as of August 1924 on 301 metres).
24: Belgium - Radio Belgique starts broadcasting in French on 732 kHz (410 metres) with 150 watts.
