Albania

Radio Tirana starts broadcasting in March 1952 on a medium wave transmitter of 50 kW in Tirana (Kashar).

In November 1961 Radio Tirana starts broadcasting on medium wave via Dürres (Shijak) with 150 kW.

On 1 October 1992 Trans World Radio starts broadcasting on medium wave (1395 kHz - 1000 kW).

In August 1993 the Voice of America starts broadcasting on medium wave via Albania.

On 1 March 1994 The BBC ceases broadcasting on medium wave via Albania.

On 1 March 2004 China Radio International begins broadcasting two hours a day on 1395 kHz for Eastern European listeners., as well as on 1458 kHz.

On 3 February 2006 at 0800utc the medium wave transmitter in Shjiak (1089 kHz) is switched off.
