Virtual Archive Project: Location
We've divided our world on this site and in the virtual archives project into three separate zones to make navigation and your visit easier. Just click on any country and you'll find yourself in a new part of the Pacific radio world.
The Pacific Zone is our Pacific, and you'll see we've got a very wide view of where this begins and ends. Our core Pacific is often regarded as the 'traditional' Pacific.
This is the first region and priority for our projects and resources. You'll see a special icon for all content covering this region (coming in 2005). This region is scheduled to begin coming on-line in early 2005.
We then have the secondary Pacific, places that are influenced by the Pacific either geographically, culturally, politically or economically.
This is the second region and priority for our projects and resources. You'll see a special icon for all content covering this region (coming in 2005) Currently, this region is scheduled to begin coming on-line in mid-2005.
Our Global Zone covers other parts of the world that have influenced the Pacific through contributing people, programs, places and technology which have been heard here.
Since the early days of radio, many stations and individuals broadcasting from Europe, the Americas, and elsewhere have sent their radio waves and influences into the Pacific. The Pacific is now the only home for some of the radio heritage materials and memories from many of these broadcasts.
This is the third region and priority for our projects and resources. You'll see a special icon for all content covering this region (coming in 2005). Currently, this region is scheduled to begin coming on line in late 2005.
As always, some stories and some projects will cover more than one of these priority regions, as 'boundaries' are never barriers to broadcasting and radio waves.
